As a new business entity to the San Antonio, Texas community the director of YELP-LV (Dan McIver aka Lieutenant Dan} was provided the opportunity to be a part of the San Antonio's Neighbor Leadership Academy class. We wish you well on your adventure to learn the interworking of this beautiful, exciting city. Congratulations and welcome to the 2020 Neighborhood Leadership Academy.  The purpose of the NLA is to help uplift, strengthen and empower existing and emerging neighborhood leaders through an informational and educational curriculum that will assist the continual development of leadership at the community level with an emphasis on highlighting great neighborhoods and sustainability. The goal is to educate citizens about city services and create problem-solving leaders within the community to encourage organic leadership to be a part of the solution.

The NLA is a four-month long program consisting of hands-on academic sessions in the areas of local government functions, leadership theories, coalition building and effective communication.  The Neighborhood Leadership Program is anticipated to begin in July and be complete in October with a ceremonial graduation proposed at City Council B Session in early-November.

We will be hosting our first Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA) Class on Wednesday, July 26, 2020 from 5:30-8:00pm in the Municipal Plaza Building B Room located at 114 W. Commerce Street. Dinner will be provided.

Pop Up Food Distribution Sites

YELP-LV with the support of the San Antonio Food Bank has established two pop up food distribution sites in the poorest Peoplehood communities. Our goal to eradicate the Food Desert in the community is a coalition of love and working together to feed our families. We provide 2130 families basic nourishment on a monthly basis. We are expanding in our mission to see that no child goes hungry as the community feels the need to simply feed our future entrepreneurs and leaders. The need is there and we will face it head on.

YELP-LV in coordination with the San Antonio Food Bank are stepping in to help eradicate food deserts in the community. YELP-LV is presently providing life sustaining nourishment to 1700 families in need . Our mission is to expand this service to 6000 families a month. We need volunteers to make this mission goal a reality . Our children need good food to expand their minds and become empathetic, work ready ,global citizens who give back to society and live a profitable life that shares the limited natural resources. We must teach our children to be accountable for their fellow women and men.
